Peter is a true bushy, an authentic, larger than life real living legend. There isn’t a track he doesn’t know, a river he hasn’t fished or a deer he hasn’t stalked. As a second-generation son of a pioneering farming family, Peter was raised in the environment in which he still lives.
To go out with Peter is both a privilege and an education.
Peter will track an animal and what we can’t see he sees as a freeway, his natural ability and skill have been honed to a sharp focus and there is very little that he leaves to chance.
He knows which rocks fish will be swimming around, he can place bait directly at the point that will most probably result in a catch worthy of any fisherman, beginner or advanced.
His hunting prowess is widely known, and Peter can take you to a likely spot where the onus is on you to procure the game, his input is merely to put it in front of you, you do the rest.
His knowledge of the bush is such that he can predict where a track will egress simply by looking to see which animals have passed through.
As well as his bush skills he is a very proficient photographer who could easily stage an exhibition with the wonderful mixture that he has captured over the years.
People like Peter are a national treasure and only appear once in a lifetime. He was born in the bush and as a youngster lived the unfettered childhood dream of being able to fill his days playing and learning about his back yard, which encompassed all the vast, unexplored bush surrounding Noojee and as he grew up expanded to include all the forest to the border and beyond.
Except for a period of time raising a family Peter has lived and breathed the mountain air exclusively and as time moves on he has become one of only a few capable people who can understand, live and breathe the natural beauty of the native hills and can have a valuable and informed opinion of the future direction that must be considered if the forest is to remain a haven for all or a hazard for many.
So, for whatever reason you wish to experience true Australian bush at its most pristine, give Peter a call and be fascinated by his persona.
- Hunt a deer
